Gain a greater appreciation for native natural materials, and the artistry by which they are transformed into baskets! Learn to make a coiled basket with a variety of natural materials. Explore the creative possibilities of this ancient art form as you design and complete your own basket. This class is for students of all levels- Linda will provide plenty of individualized attention to ensure you succeed. You will learn a variety of stitches as well as decorative options for this ancient style of basketry. You will leave with a completed coiled ~5” diameter basket, and the skills to make more baskets at home. Lunch is not provided, please bring your own to class or dine in the Arboretum Cafe.
BRING FROM HOME: small pair of scissors, a thimble and reading glasses (if needed), bag lunch (optional).
