Winter Nights, Holiday Lights Photography
Saturday, December 8, 2018
3 p.m. - 8 p.m.
Have a fun evening creating dynamic images featuring the colorful holiday lights and winter landscapes of the Landscape Arboretum! Join night photography expert Dr. Mike Shaw in this exciting new outdoor workshop where you’ll master the art of long exposure photography and light painting. The ethereal colors of twilight and dark night provide the perfect backdrop for learning how to manage and capture the beautiful lights of the season. You’ll take home a host of new techniques you’ll be eager to share with your family and friends. You might even be so pleased with the images you capture that you’ll want to have them made into a seasonal greeting card! A box dinner is included.
REQUIRED EQUIPMENT: Camera with manual focus and manual exposure capability. Lenses with focal lengths between 14 – 70 mm will find the most use. A sturdy tripod is essential along with a cable or wireless remote shutter release. A headlamp with a red bulb or small flashlight with red cellophane covering is also important to protect your night vision; and bring your camera’s operating manual.
NOTE: We will be photographing outdoors, so bring proper clothing, hat & gloves, hand warmers and footwear.
