Seasonal Evergreen Make-and-Take: Natural Winter Container
Saturday, November 17, 2018
9 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Laura Vogel, Adult Education Programs Manager, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum
Learn how to make your own spruce top pot to festoon your porch or deck this winter. After a fun botanical introduction to evergreens, you’ll learn the basic recipe for making a spruce top pot as Laura walks you through each step. You’ll enjoy the festive atmosphere while working alongside others, and stretch your creativity while adding unique botanical touches such as dogwood, willow, cones, and berries! You will go home with a beautiful creation that will welcome visitors throughout the holiday season, and the skills needed to make more spruce top pots in the future. All supplies are included in the fee for one or two (see registration options) 14” liner(s) that you can place in a decorative pot when you get home. Bring gloves, pruners, a mallet, and dress for sap!
NOTE: Consider making enough space in your vehicle to bring the container(s) home; bring a tarp or a garbage bag to protect your car.
TIP: Pair this workshop with the Wreath and/or Garland Workshops for a full day (and home!) of Make-and-Take Evergreen projects
