Skill Level: All levels, some familiarity with the manual settings on your camera preferred
10:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. Arrival and welcome Get settled into rooms 
10:30 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Welcome, orientation and agenda 
11:00 a.m. - 11:45 p.m. Cedar Creek Ecosystem Science Reserve Presentation (+ possible trail camera presentation with all the animals of CC)
12:00 p.m. - 12:30 p.m. Box Lunches 
12:30 p.m. -1:00 p.m. Photography Workshop for First Excursion 
1:00 p.m. - 5:30 p.m. 
First Location: Oak Savanna, Prairie and Birds Excursion

  • Telephoto: Birds 
  • Wide Angle: Autumn Landscape 
  • Macro: Unusual Plants 

6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Dinner on your own at nearby restaurant (list provided) or using kitchenette 
8:30 p.m. - 9:00 p.m. Artist-in-Residence Landscape Presentation 

7:00 a.m. - 7:45 a.m. Continental Breakfast AND Prairie Sunrise Photography (weather permitting) Location: Picnic tables are right beside the prairie path, facing east. Only steps from Lindeman Hall 
7:45 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. 
Second Location: Fish Lake Trail and Wetlands 

  • Telephoto: Sandhill Cranes and possibly Red-Headed Woodpecker 
  • Wide Angle: Early morning sun and autumn waterscape 
  • Macro: Pollinators, fall flowers, and aquatic plants 

12:45 p.m. - 1:15 p.m. Box Lunches 
1:30 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. 
Third Location: The Bog or Cedar Bog Lake or other location

  • Macro: Rare and Carnivorous Plants 
  • Wide Angle: Landscape

Required equipment:

  • DSLR or Mirror-less camera

Accommodations include:

  • 2 single beds per room
  • Linens (pillow and case, blanket, comforter, 2 sheets)

$259 per person, double occupancy room (Option to select roommate at checkout; if you do not have a companion but wish for double-occupancy, a roommate of the same gender will be assigned)

Fee includes exclusive access to Reserve locations, presentations on photography and ecology, lunch each day and breakfast on Sunday.
