Art of Photography: Autumn Light in Black & White (750-10-27-18)
Saturday, October 27, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Frank Meuschke, Minnesota Landscape Arboretum Staff/Photographer
Level: All levels, Beginner to Advanced
In this class you will discover how to create poetic photographs of Minnesota’s autumn light in black & white. Using examples from masters like Ansel Adams, Frank will reveal the dramatic contrast of light and shadow, the soft silver tones, and sensual textures that make black and white unique in the world of photography. He will discuss what to look for in the landscape, propose subjects, and identify the quality of light that will help you artfully compose photographs in black and white. In the final section of our class, join your classmates on a journey into the autumn light that rakes across the Arboretum grounds to create your own stunning black and white photographs! Rain or snow date is November 3.
