Pollinators and Politics: An Overview of Minnesota Pollinator Policy (200-04-08-17)
Saturday, April 8, 10 a.m. – noon
Erin Rupp, Director of Pollinate Minnesota, advocate at the local, state and federal level for pollinator-friendly policies
Policy is an important part of caring for our environment, but keeping up with it can be overwhelming! And from an executive order on neonicotinoids to a bill on solar sites as pollinator habitat, there is a lot of focus on Minnesota pollinators in particular these days. Join Erin Rupp, a veteran beekeeper, informal science educator, and director of Pollinate Minnesota, for an overview on recent pollinator policy changes and why they matter to you. The complexities of each policy will be laid out in a clear, engaging manner. Meet other policy, environment, and pollinator enthusiasts at your table as you discuss the issues with Erin in this informal class. You will leave with a new grasp on the issues, and be better able to understand future policies as well.
