Tomatoes are a gardener's favorite vegetable, with infinite varieties, which makes them a perfect introduction to the art and science of seed saving. Join other beginner seed savers and learn from national expertise based in our very own upper Midwest: Seed Savers Exchange is based in Iowa just a few hours away! Tim, an accomplished seed saver and educator, will guide you in understanding the theory and importance of seed saving. You will leave this workshop fully able to produce your own true-to-type tomato seeds while also learning the basics of seed saving: isolation, population size, seed cleaning, and seed storage.
