December Full Moon and Arboretum Illuminations: Photography Special Access (750-12-06-14)
Saturday, December 6, 2014, 2 – 6 p.m.
John Pennoyer, acclaimed photographer specializing in native Minnesota wildflowers, birds, environment scenes and wildlife
We’ve consulted out astronomy calendar and we know that the full moon is at its fullest at 5:11 p.m. on this date. Not to miss a chance to photograph the moon and night sky, this special photography session includes not only the wonders of full moon light on the grounds of the Arboretum, but we’ll also make certain that the Visitors Center is illuminated from within, offering another opportunity for breathtaking winter-magic photos. Acclaimed photographer and lauded instructor John Pennoyer (www.impressionsofnature.net) will review aspects of winter photography: how to dress to protect yourself and your gear from the elements, winter light, correct exposure for winter landscapes, and shooting in very cold weather. You will spend plenty of time capturing full moon rising and exterior shots of festively lit windows as only possible at the Arboretum.
